An old stick

We saw this in one of my favourite haunts, Norden Heath. It was obviously ready to feature as a ‘Ribbons artefact’ (naturefact?), so we posed it and snapped away with my phone camera. It is a lovely old stick full of anthropomorphic character.

Exhibition debrief

So the pictures came down on Monday and the sales have been tallied. We did quite well despite early indications that sales would be disappointing. Visitors were very supportive and most commented on the quality of work and great variety of styles, describing it as ‘stimulating’, ‘varied’ and ‘thought provoking’ – great reactions to inspire in our visitors! I made 2 commissions and sold a print. It seems as if the economy is biting though, with sales this year about half those of 2011 when we exhibited in the same venue.

Exhibition at Durlston

A group of artists and myself are exhibiting for the next 2 weeks at Durlston Castle in Swanage. The exhibition showcases work by the Purbeck Collective, an artist’s collective I set up a few years ago comprising about 20 local artists working in a wide range of media. Lots of great work in a fantastic setting…
